Supplement to studies  “Languages”

The supplement to studies  “Languages” can be completed by students from all fields of study who wish to acquire additional language skills or combine their free electives into a language specialization.

As part of this supplement, students acquire communicative language skills in at least two foreign languages in several areas (reception, production, interaction and mediation). The development of multilingual and pluricultural skills enable them to use their linguistic and cultural repertoire flexibly and effectively.

To acquire the “Languages” supplement to their degree, students must successfully complete continuing language courses in at least 2 languages totaling at least 24 ECTS credits.

The language supplement is divided into two modules:

  • Basic module: at least 12 ECTS points
  • Advanced module: at least 12 ECTS points

For each module, 2 continuing courses in two foreign languages, worth at least 12 ECTS credits, must be successfully completed.

Please also note that the following courses cannot be credited towards the “Languages” degree supplement:

  • compulsory or compulsory elective courses
  • admission requirements to a degree program
  • courses in the students’ first languages or chosen fields of study, for example, German-as a foreign language courses can only be credited towards the language supplement if the target level is B2+.

When you can provide the required evidence, submit your course certificates along with the completed form to the head of the Language Centre. Please refer to the information under the following link:
