Guidelines for Habilitation
Habilitation is the highest academic qualification a scholar can achieve. To ensure the excellent scientific qualification, as claimed by national law, the University of Salzburg provides a guideline for Habilitation.
Additionally, the department postulates two specific requirements for starting the Habilitation procedure:
- At least three publications with first or last authorship in peer-reviewed journals after the PhD thesis and additional co-authored publications that document the independent and continuous research activity
- Acquisition of externally funded projects (> 100.000 EUR), e.g. a PhD position within a FWF-project (or equivalent)
These guidelines should help in planning a successful Habilitation procedure.
