Since 2004 (implementing the Universities Act 2002) the Department is run as
Interfaculty Department of Forensic Medicine and Forensic Neuropsychiatry.
With an agreement between the rectors of the Paris-Lodron University Salzburg (PLUS) and the Johannes Kepler Universität Linz (JKU) in 2010, the Institute of Forensic Medicine Linz was incorporated to the Interfaculty Department.
