Short resume

Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Gerda Hagenauer has been a Professor of Educational Science at Paris Lodron University Salzburg (PLUS) since October 2018. She completed her studies in Educational Science at PLUS, graduating in 2005, and earned  her doctorate there in 2009 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tina Hascher, with her dissertation titled “Lernfreude in der Schule”. After several stays abroad, e.g. at Murdoch University in Perth/Western Australia (Prof. Simone Volet) and Friedrich Schiller University in Jena (Prof. Dr. Michaela Gläser-Zikuda), she completed her habilitation in Educational Science (venia legendi “Educational Science”) at the University of Bern in 2016.  In early 2018,  she accepted her current professorship for Educational Science at PLUS.

From 09/2021 to 09/2022, she was Head of the Department of Educational Science, School Research, and School Practice. She is currently Deputy Head. Since 01/2022, she has also been Head of the School of Education (https://www.plus.ac.at/soe/ueber-uns/leitung/).

Prof. Hagenauer is a member of numerous associations in the field of educational science, including  the European Association of Research in Learning and Instruction [EARLI], Gesellschaft für empirische Bildungsforschung [GEBF], Österreichische Gesellschaft für Forschung und Entwicklung im Bildungswesen [ÖFEB], and Schweizer Gesellschaft für Bildungsforschung [SGBF]). She has been a member of the ÖFEB board since 09/2022 and of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (Humanities Division) since 2021 ( https://euro-acad.eu/).

  • Emotion, Motivation and Understanding roles in the school internship (EMRiS) (accompanying research for practical school studies in Salzburg; since WS 2019/20).
