Short resume
Dr. Ulrike Burgstaller has been a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Educational Science (Department of Educational Science, School Research and School Practice) at Paris Lodron University Salzburg since 2013. After completing her teacher training (music / Spanish), she taught at higher general education schools (AHS), vocational schools (BHS) and secondary schools as a music & Spanish teacher, instrumental & dance teacher and guidance counselor. In addition, she completed extra-occupational training as a life and social counselor and supervisor and wrote a dissertation in the Department of Educational Science (Department of Educational Science, School Research and School Practice), in which she developed training didactics for the further development and reflection of professional pedagogical practice.
Alongside her teaching at the University of Salzburg, she also works as a trainer in other educational institutions and as a consultant and supervisor.
Main work interests
In her teaching, she focuses on the development of a professional pedagogical attitude. In addition to intensively researching the topic of “self-control”, she also explores open teaching formats and the associated differentiation. She deliberately employs pedagogical double-decker approaches to provide future teachers with hands-on experiences using various learning methods.
