Master-Studium Geologie
The aim of the Master’s Programme in Geology is to deepen the understanding gained in the Bachelor’s Programme and to acquire insights into specific methods and fields of research and application in geology. A number of areas can be specialised in (including Crystalline- and Structural Geology, Environmental- and Hydrogeology, Technical Geology, and Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics) under the guidance of a highly skilled and motivated team of experts in their fields. The focus is on linking field work with various laboratory- and modelling methods (age dating, geoinformatics, numerical modelling), combined with innovative ideas through new courses (geogenic hazards, urban geology, modelling). Cooperation with regional and international firms specialising in earth sciences and technical geology enable a smooth transition into the job market, with many finding work through an internship.
The Master’s Programme in Geology comprises four full-time semesters and 120 ECTS-Credits. Graduates receive the title “Master of Science”, or “MSc” for short.
