The concepts of the triad „macht.bildung.gesellschaft“ are closely linked to one another andcan be considered as central key terms in the cultural and social sciences. The intention of ourconceptual triad is not to be misconstrued as a fixed canon formation, but rather intends to openup multidimensional perspectives on how to deal with current and fundamental socio-cultural,social and political issues. The triad itself serves as a systematic guiding formula that opens andenables interdisciplinary discourses. It remains flexible, dynamic and open with regard to itsinterpretations and forms of discussion, both thematically and methodologically. Since theterms „Macht“ (‚power‘), „Bildung“ (‚education‘) and „Gesellschaft“ (‚society‘) cannot be assignedto just one discipline, they are rather seen as thematic intersections that need to be dealtwith across multiple disciplines. The intention is to understand them as metaphors of boundariesand to process them in this respect and to think through them critically.Since the processes, structures and forms of the triad „macht.bildung.gesellschaft“ (for biographicalreasons alone) are shaped and expressed in a highly heterogeneous manner, it is afundamental maxim of this DSP-college that social and cultural studies and analyzes can onlybe carried out through pluralistic perspectives both theoretically and methodologically. Furthertopics that intersect with our triad and are penetrated through it are, for example, ‚race-classgender‘,emotionality and the body, space and social movements, power and the abuse ofpower, empowerment and powerlessness.
