Development of new synthetic routes and characterization of phosphate based cathode materials for lithium ion batteries, e.g. LiMn0.8Fe0.2PO4 and Li2CoPO4F. One major goal is the development of synthetic protocolls for aqueous media and for obtaining taylor made cathode material morphologies. Another goal is to control also solid state defects by employing suitable structure directing agents.
