Cooperation with the Data Science Research Platform, University of Malta
The Team Smart Analytics & Reinforcement Learning cooperates with the Data Science Research Platform der Universität Malta within the context of Research of Excellence.
In November 2021, the international project DeepREL: Deep Reinforcement Learning for Large and Complex Systems, led by the University of Malta (Gianluca Valetino, Leander Greech) in cooperation with CERN and the IDA Lab Salzburg (Team Smart Analytics & Reinforcement Learning, Simon Hirländer, PLUS).
The research objective is to solve complex problems that are highly relevant to the control of the world’s largest particle accelerator, the Large Hardron Collider LHC at CERN. Methods from the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, especially deep reinforcement learning, are used. The results obtained from this project will be transferable to many areas of automation, such as autonomous driving or manufacturing processes, and thus have a high social benefit in addition to basic research.Wir kooperieren eng mit dem Artificial Intelligence Bachelor-, Data Science Master- und PhD-Studiengang an der Universität Salzburg, den ersten Studiengängen dieser Art in Österreich
Cooperation with Ludwig-Boltzmann-Institut for Digital Health and Prevention
Research cooperation with Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Digital Health and Prevention ( LBI) | Project management: LBI / statistical part (supervision of LBI-funded postdoc-position: Eleonora Carrozzo): Georg Zimmermann | Duration: 01.02.2021 – 31.01.2024
Bachelor Artificial Intelligence & Master Data Science – PLUS
We are closely cooperating with the Artificial Intelligence Bachelor’s, Data Science Master’s and PhD degree study programmes at the University of Salzburg, the first such degree programmes in Austria (established 2016 & 2022).
